Le refuge de l'Arpont (2309m), located on the commune of Termignon, is perched on a moraine, relic of the passing of the Arpont glacier.
Built in the Seventies on the ruins of old chalets of mountain pasture, it respects the traditional style, larch wood, slate roof, stones. We owe this elegant stone assembly (taken on site) to Mr. Molinaro, craftsman mason. It will have taken for him not less than 4 summers to obtain this well-groomed result so much appreciated by the experts.
Far from the roads, the refuge located on the GR5 offers a landscape striated with many cascades, open on the valley.
Not far from the refuge, the lake of Arpont with the glacier within reach creates a magic place flown over by golden eagles and bearded lammergeyers.
Departure for the domes from the lake: the dome of Chasseforêt (3586m) is the culminating point of the Vanoise Glaciers.
